Why The Studio Loft?
Safe Handling of your baby
Using Maryann's own experience as a mum of two and her 18 years of experience in newborn photography, degree in Film and TV Production (Queensland University of Technology) , we aim to do more.
Our team continuously upgrades their skills in baby handling, safety, and newborn wrapping techniques under the guidance of the leading authorities in newborn photography training, like Jade Gao, Russ Jackson, Erin Elizabeth, Kelley Ryden and attended numerous other workshops as well. Your baby is in safe hands!
What to expect during your session
We will warmly welcome you to our studio and ensure that you feel comfortable and calm as you prepare for the session. Additionally, we will share some samples of the types of shots we've done, allowing us to determine if you have any color preferences, whether you prefer the use of props, or if you have any specific sample shots you've seen online that you'd like to share with us!
We are able to safely perform baby wraps and popular poses such as bucket poses, beanbag poses, cute chin-on-hand poses, and many more.
Natural light will be utilized for our newborn sessions, as it is our specialty and yields the best results. We have a loft with floor-to-ceiling windows to ensure the best lighting conditions.
Once we understand your preferences, simply enjoy the special experience and cherish your bundle of joy. Our all-female team will guide you through the entire session.
How Much Is The Shoot
Our clients typically spend between $800 and $1600, depending on their requirements. Some families would like a longer duration, a specific number of fully retouched images (including the removal of pimples, slimming, and eye bags), more sets/wraps for their baby, various types of wall art (such as canvas prints and frames), photobooks.
FAQs
The best time to have a newborn photoshoot is between 5 to 14 days old.
Best practice would be to inform us when you EDD is and update us when you bundle of joy arrives. So that we can quickly secure a shoot within 14 days of birth and prepare for your arrival. This is when your baby is still in their natural sleepy state and will be easier to pose.
Some parents opt for a shoot to capture the first or second day of birth at the hospital, where family & baby's siblings greet your bundle of joy for the very first time. Fresh 48 hours shoots hold a special place in our hearts, captured in black and white.
Alternatively, some parents would prefer a 5 to 9 month old photoshoot when their baby is able to sit up and have more active.
The short answer is Yes. But do be careful who you engage. Do check their experience and if they have attended baby safety handling courses.
For The Studio Loft, we have shot over 1000 babies in our 18 years of operation. We have studied under internationally renowned photographers to upgrade our baby handling, safety and wrapping techniques.
You can rest assured that your precious little one is in good hands!
The short answer is Yes, with +$250 based on your requirements. But we would strongly recommend coming to the studio as there will be more props & sets available plus we can control more elements of the shoot here.
We will find the earliest date to reschedule the session.
However, if its close to 3 weeks old, do note that it will be a little tougher to pose your baby as they will tend to be more alert and not in the soft sleepy state. It is still possible, just know there will be fewer poses that we can achieve.
Best time for a newborn shoot is 14 days and under.
Will share samples of sets we've done prior to the shoot so that you can select which style you like!
If you have sample photos of styles you like, do send them to us as well so that we can see what is best fit for your preference:)
Prepare at least 2 changes of clothes in case of any accidents. Also note, don't have to wear clothes beneath the swaddle, as this will help us to transit easily to wrapping without waking baby up
Feed your baby just prior to the shoot and burping them, so that they can be comfortable and sleep through the shoot
Try to keep them awake before the shoot as well for the same reason.
Do bring anything that can help calm your baby down if incase they get fussy during the shoot. White noise machine, pacifier etc
Parents, do wear neutral colours, nothing distracting (jewellery/big logos/ patterns) to keep the photos timeless.
Great! Just fill up the form at the bottom of the page or drop us a Whatsapp message:)
